BORDER ABSTRACTIONS
These investigations of the US/Mexico border start with the truth that “the border crossed us,” that is to say: Mexico extended far into what is now the United States prior to the Mexican-American war. Mashing up businesses and iconography from both side of the border, these works on paper look at three cities that line up along that border: San Diego/Tijuana, Nogales/Ambos Nogales, and El Paso/Ciudad Juarez.
